I recently spent some time in Barcelona admiring the works of one of my favorite architects, Antoni Gaudi.<\/p>\n

Much of Gaudi’s work\u00a0was inspired by nature.<\/p>\n

One of my absolute favorite pieces is this door grill.<\/p>\n

Which was inspired by this!!<\/p>\n

A honey comb!<\/p>\n

The columns in The Basilica of the Sagrada Familia were inspired by trees.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Basilica was being worked on at the time of Gaudi’s death and work halted for three decades\u00a0and began again in 1954.\u00a0The current estimated completion date in 2025.<\/p>\n

He used a variety of materials in his work.<\/p>\n

Mosiac<\/p>\n

Iron<\/p>\n

\"image\"<\/p>\n

Wood in this staircase is used to resemble\u00a0dinosaur vertebrae.<\/p>\n

Cement<\/p>\n

Casa Batllo with its balconies that remind me of\u00a0 Venetian masks<\/p>\n

I find looking at Gaudi’s work, just\u00a0at face value, totally inspirational. Now I am delving deeper into what inspired him, how he used his inspiration in the designs of his incredible buildings. Curves and glass and mosaic, at times it felt so original and so inspired, yet almost Seuss like. I loved spending time in his creations. It is worth checking out the amazing architecture of Antoni Gaudi if you are looking for inspiration!<\/p>\n

And\u00a0of course, we still found a little time to cheer on the German Football Team (yeah!)!<\/p>\n
